Happy birthday to me, happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to me… how old I am?

Well, I’m singing a birthday song to my self coz I just turned 28 yesterday (a year older but still looking very young…hehehe, walay mo-kontra kay bday nako). It was a special occasion and I’m just so happy because my family and friends remembered my birthday. They sent birthday greetings through text, email, friendster message and phone calls. I just felt the faithfulness and blessing of our dear Lord to me. I am thankful coz I reached this age.

One of the blessings that God gave me is my wonderful hubby (I call him “emo-dabs”).

Sweet namin no?

In our family (CUA side), we have many February babies (born in this special month): Job (12), me (22), Uncle Boy (23) and Sofia Cloie (25). Alam nyo na lahi namin…hehehe.

I was happy too coz my in-laws (from Gensan) we’re able to celebrate my birthday with us. Tatay David gave ice cream as a gift for me… thanks Tatay!

To all who prayed for me, a million thanks. Thank you God for my 28th birthday! ;)

Yesterday was indeed a special day because my hubby celebrated his 30th birthday (tigulang na gyud akong bana pro looking young pa rin nman sya…hehe). We had a simple celebration, just a dinner with my family here in Davao and some cousins. We ate at around 8pm and we had sinigang na baboy, Chikai’s special giniling na baboy (puro na gyud ni baboy…hehe), cake and ice cream.

Dabs arrival with our Yamaha Sniper…galing pa sya Gensan kya gabi na dumating (humabol sa bday celebration nya)

To all who prayed and sent their birthday greetings to Dabs, THANK YOU so much. Special thanks goes to Chikai who accompanied me sa NCCC Mall to buy some grocery and the cake plus ang gift nyo ni James na ice cream.

Ako at si baby ay laging nandito for you. Be happy always and we love you to the highest level. Happy 30th birthday again. Muwah! :)

Is your marriage contract-based or covenant-based? This was the question of the pastor to the couples who attended the church service in Holy ground this morning. Sayang nga lng coz hubby was not with me today, he went to Gensan yesterday for some works to do there.

Anyway, I really loved the message of the pastor to us. I felt God spoke to me directly about marriage and I believed that there were many hearts in that worship celebration that were touched by the powerful message of the Lord especially those of the husbands and wives.

Going back to the question above, let me share to you about the difference of marriage as a contract and marriage as a covenant. Look at the contrasting statements:

As a contract / As a covenant
1. You better do it! / 1. How may I serve you?
2. What to I get? / 2. What can I give?
3. What will it take? / 3. Whatever it takes.
4. It’s not my responsibility. / 4. I’m happy to do it.
5. It’s not my fault. / 5. I accept responsibility.
6. I’ll meet you halfway. / 6. I’ll give my 100%.
7. I’ll be faithful for now. / 7. I’ll be faithful forever.
8. I am suspicious. / 8. I am trusting.
9. I have to. / 9. I want to.
10. It’s a deal. / 10. It’s a relationship.

Can you see the big difference between contract and covenant? I agree with pastor that marriage should be a covenant between you and your spouse and most importantly between the two of you and God (of which marriage is God’s idea in the first place).

Covenant marriage is about love and loyalty and it talks about as long as you and your partner shall both live (walang expiration ika nga).

Ito nga pla ang covenant partner ko for life… my macho-gwapitong Dabs.

I was quite sad last week because I’m leaving Gensan for a while. Job and I decided that I’ll give birth in Davao because of my difficult condition (high risk pregnancy). We were also advised by my OB and some doctors to deliver our first born in Davao because hospitals here in Davao are better equipped in case complications will arise for me and the baby (God forbid).

And so last Monday, hubby and I traveled to Davao bringing most of my things. I’ll be staying here for several months (hopefully I’ll give birth end of June…we are praying that we will not have a premature baby). It was indeed a hard decision for us because Job and I will be separated. of course he will be visiting me here every now and then but still it’s different if you’re together everyday. As a wife, I find it hard to think that I cannot personally take care of my husband and manage our house in Gensan. :(

But we are doing all these sacrifices for our dear baby. Right now, we are very excited and looking forward to the day that we will finally be holding our precious one. We love you baby! :)

Kagabi, enjoy ako sa napanood ko na episode ng Maalaala Mo Kaya. Since LOVE month na (February), about puppy love ang kuwento nila. Bigla ko tuloy naalala yung experience ko ng first time akong niligawan noong 12 years old pa lng ako (naka-relate ba, wag kang magalit Dabs ha….hehehe).

Nakakaloka pla talaga!

Well, sana naka-relate din kayo. Wala lng, I just enjoyed the show last night kya nai-share ko ito. Opps, you might wonder kung nagtagal kmi ni Mickey Mouse…hehehe. We lasted for three years. Sinagot ko sya May 17, 1993 at nakipag-break ako May 17, 1996. Once a year lng nman kmi magkita, every summer vacation lng. Nakakatawa nga ksi prang di kmi mag-boyfriend noon… no holding hands, no kiss and no talks (cge lng mi ligo ug sapa ug dula ug patintero…hehehe).

Happy LOVE month sa lahat!
