When I received an invitation from Bariles of Gensan News Online Mag to visit the Rainbow Warrior ship of Greenpeace, I immediately said yes.  Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organization that acts to change attitudes and behavior, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace.  For years now they’ve been strongly campaigning on zero deforestation, energy revolution, sustainable agriculture and finding solutions to climate change.

The Greenpeace flagship Rainbow Warrior arrived in General Santos City to kick off the Philippine leg of her “Turn the Tide” tour in Southeast Asia.  Greenpeace is calling for an Energy Revolution in the country and is batting for clean, sustainable and peaceful energy in Mindanao.  In particular, they joined the thousands who call to stop the building of a coal power plant in Maasim, Sarangani as coal is considered a dirty energy.  In fact, coal is the dirtiest fossil fuel and it can affect the health of the people and will destroy the environment.

Syempre, di papahuli si Cache…sya daw ang Little Captain

Let us be part and help Greenpeace in its fight for a cleaner, greener and peaceful future.

What’s in your kikay kit?…She’s such a kikay!…I have lots of kikay accessories here….etc.  Kikay is such a famous word among the Filipinos especially the girls.  It’s a slang word for sassy(stylish) and was more popularized by the song Sayaw Kikay (La la la la la… mahilig mag pa cute, aye! Kikay!).   Now the question is…am I kikay?  Well, I guess I am and I believe every individual has a certain “kikay-ness” in her/him (you read it right, including the male species).

Well, I’m not that super duper kikay but just like any girls, I want to look fashionable and updated with the latest style and trend in town.  I began my love affair with shoes, bags, clothes, accessories and make-ups after college when I started working.  Some people don’t understand and say that it’s extravagance.  Why do you have to buy all those stuff when you you can’t wear and use it all?  It’s impractical!  Others would comment.  But for me, it’s not really about the expenses.  The  outcome of the “kikay in me” is the happiness I get when I look and feel good about myself.  It’s not really about the nice dress or the fab shoes but the joy that I feel inside when I get to do what I want and be able to express my self.

Some pics of mine…todo na ito! Hehehe

Now that I’m a wife and a mother, I can say that I’m still a kikay but more practical now.  I’m thankful that I have a husband who chose to understand and not complain about my kikayness.  I’m sure he wonders why it takes me so long to prepare and get dressed and why I have to buy different accessories or bags or shoes when I still have unused stuff in the closet.  My hubby knows I am happy this way.

I’m happy also that I have a daughter.  Cache is my partner in crime, hehe.  As my dear hubby jokingly said, “Nagmana talaga sa iyong kaartehan ang iyong anak.” :)

My precious little Google Cache (let my husband explain her name, hehe)

How about you…how kikay are you?  For more kikay stuff, visit KikayMuch.me, Shoppingera.net, GetPrettified.com and HairandNailsSalon.com.

Our little Cache is now two years old and she’s discovering and learning new things everyday.  We are so amazed with how fast she has grown.  Many can’t believe that she’s a preemie baby born at six months old only.  We can only thank God for the miracle He has done to the life of our precious angel.

Well, I just want to share to you some words and terms that our little Cache has learned the past months.  We call it her baby lingo.  By the way, English is the main language of Cache.  Hubby and I decided that we teach her to speak in English because most of her cousins speak in this language and anyway, she will eventually learn to speak her native tongue (Visayan and Tagalog).

Here’s a list of her baby lingo…learn and enjoy! :)
