When I started baking “seriously” (wink) last year, I’ve been wanting to enroll in a cake decorating class. I’m always fascinated by the beautiful creations of cake artists and I often wonder how do they do it. So I told myself that I should learn how to decorate cakes also. And so last February 2-4, I attended a Baking 101 and Fondant Cake Decorating Class in Davao which was organized by a cake maker, Hannah of Cuppycakes. Our instructor was Atty. Miles Acoba of Bake It Dainty (you read it right, she’s a lawyer), a cake artist based in the United States. I’m glad I attended the class because it was full of fun and learning. Here are some of our photos…enjoy! ![]()
When an invitation was given to SOX Bloggers to attend the Dolefil’s Light a Tree, Light A Life Christmas Decoration Contest last week, I immediately confirmed my attendance. I’ve been to Polomolok many times and several times to Kalsangi Clubhouse, but I’ve never been inside Dole’s cannery. It is a place strictly for its employees only. It was plain curiosity on my part to know what’s inside (wink). But I was amazed by what I saw inside the cannery… it’s like I’m in a wonderland. Nine Norfolk pine trees along the pedestrian walkway were creatively and beautifully designed by DOLE employees. The trees were adorned with lights and decorations (out of scrap materials) which were definitely a sight to behold.
And what’s more than amazing by Dolefil’s Light a Tree, Light A Life Christmas Decoration Contest is that it’s done for a good cause. Now on it’s 15th year, the prizes of the winners will be donated to different beneficiaries like orphanages and home for the aged. Indeed, Dolefil has a heart on helping our less fortunate brothers and sisters. This really inspires me and reminds me that Christmas is all about selfless giving just like what our Lord Jesus Christ has given to us, His life. Merry Christmas everyone!

Of course for the Philippine Blog Awards Bloggers’ Choice, my vote goes to South Cotabato Tambayan. I’m sure followers of this site would agree with me how much Nanardx, the man behind SC Tambayan, has put his heart in promoting his province. I salute Nanardx for his dedication and commitment in creating such an informative blog.
Good luck Nanardx and congratz in advance South Cotabato Tambayan!
It’s almost Christmas, my favorite time of the year. Well, I would like to share to you my Christmas wishlist. Aside from wishing good health, more blessings for the family and world peace, my wishlist includes my “other wants” for the year 2012. Who knows, Santa might be reading this blog and he would give me one of these (hoping mode).
1. Top of my list is a devotional or inspirational book which I can read daily for 365 days on 2012.
2. I wish for more recipe books on baking / pastry and cake decorating.
3. I love making breads but the kneading part is really laborious. So I wish for a bread maker to make life easy for me.
4. A scholarship. I’m serious with this (Itay Dabs, hope you read this post of mine). I want to enroll in a short course in baking and cake decorating. We all know that a course like this is quiet expensive that’s why I need a scholarship grant (wink).
5. I wish to learn how to take good photos of the food I made.
6. More kitchen and baking essentials.
7. I like to have an Apple iPhone or Samsung Android Phone.
8. Traveling makes me happy so I would love to go to Boracay and Singapore.
9. I badly need a new sling bag because the one given by my sister is ready to retire now (calling Chikai…I love another Coach or other good brands, hehe).
10. And lastly, I want a long-wearing pink lipstick and an Olay (syempre, pa-beauty naman tayo).
How about you…have you made your Christmas wishlist already? If you do, blog it now. Who knows, you will be first on Santa’s list.
